Terms & Conditions
Last updated: September 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing this website, submitting an inquiry, or engaging in services provided by Lily Kaufmann Counselling ("we", "us", or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use this website or our services.
2. Nature of Services & Scope of Practice
Lily Kaufmann is currently completing a Master of Counselling degree. Services currently offered through this website consist of life coaching, mental skills facilitation, and supportive dialogue. Please review the following scope boundaries:
- Non-Clinical Coaching: Current coaching sessions focus on personal growth, goal setting, emotional regulation tools, and performance mindset. They do not constitute licensed psychotherapy, psychiatric assessment, clinical diagnosis, or medical treatment.
- Future Credentialing: Registration as a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC) is in progress (anticipated 2027). Clinical counselling services will officially begin once registration requirements are fulfilled.
3. Emergency & Crisis Protocol (Non-Monitoring Notice)
This website, contact forms, and email inboxes are not monitored 24/7 and are not designed for acute psychiatric emergencies or crisis intervention.
If you are experiencing thoughts of suicide, severe distress, or a medical emergency, please use these immediate 24/7 resources:
- 9-8-8: Suicide Crisis Helpline (Call or text 24/7, toll-free across Canada).
- 310-6789: BC Mental Health Support Line (24/7, no area code required).
- 1-800-SUICIDE (1-800-784-2433): BC Crisis Line for immediate suicide intervention.
- 911 or visit your nearest hospital emergency department for immediate physical safety concerns.
4. No Client Relationship Formed via Website
Browsing this website, downloading educational resources, submitting an inquiry via the booking form, or participating in a complimentary 15-minute consultation call does not create a formal or binding client relationship. A formal relationship is established only upon mutual execution of a direct service agreement and informed consent documentation.
5. Age of Consent & Capacity in British Columbia
Our direct coaching and support services are available to individuals 19 years of age or older (the age of majority in British Columbia). For prospective clients under the age of 19, services require parental or legal guardian consent, unless an independent assessment has been established under the mature minor provisions of the British Columbia Infants Act.
6. Booking, Attendance & Cancellation Policy
To ensure a respectful and reliable schedule for all clients, the following policies apply:
- Booking Confirmation: Session requests submitted through the online booking form are pending until confirmed directly by Lily via email.
- 24-Hour Notice Required: If you need to cancel or reschedule a scheduled session, you must provide at least 24 hours' advance notice via email.
- Late Cancellations & No-Shows: Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice, or missed appointments without notification, will be billed at the full session fee. Exceptions are considered on a case-by-case basis for genuine, unforeseen medical or personal emergencies.
- Consultation Calls: Complimentary 15-minute introduction calls may be cancelled or rescheduled at any time without financial penalty.
7. Rates, Payment Terms & Taxes
- Currency & Taxes: All fees are quoted in Canadian Dollars (CAD) and are subject to applicable sales tax (5% GST in British Columbia) for coaching and non-exempt services.
- Payment Timing: Payment is due on or before the date of the session. Accepted payment methods include Interac e-transfer or other pre-approved digital invoicing methods.
- Sliding Scale: A limited number of sliding scale spots are available for clients facing financial barriers. Sliding scale rates must be discussed and agreed upon prior to booking standard sessions.
